Military Family Life Counselor

Child and Youth Behavioral Military Family Life Counselors (CYB-MFLCs) provide private and confidential short-term non-medical counseling support to military children, youth, and family members.  Services are provided by Masters or Doctorate-level licensed counselors. This counseling support is free and located at the school.

Every child involved in group or individual support needs to have a Release signed by a parent or guardian. View and print the permission form here (pdf).

CYB-MFLCs provide a wide range of support to military children and youth, family members and staff who work with children by:

  • Engaging in activities with children and youth
  • Providing behavioral intervention in classrooms
  • Being available to parents and staff to discuss interactions with children and other concerns
  • Facilitating psycho-educational groups

Some of the issues that CYB-MFLCs provide support on include:

  • Coping with Deployment and reunification
  • Fear, grief and loss
  • Transitions and moving
  • School adjustment
  • Conflict resolution/ Problem Solving
  • Separation from Parent(s)
  • Behavioral concerns
  • Sibling/parent-child communication
