Clear Creek Elementary School

The Clear Creek Choir is a volunteer group of 4th and 5th grade students that meet once a week, starting in September on Tuesdays at 8:10 a.m. This group is for students that enjoy singing and performing. The Clear Creek Choir represents the school by performing throughout the year for school and community events. Clear Creek also has a staff choir which regularly performs with the student choir. This program was created in 1992 so that kids could invest in themselves and in their school by doing meaningful work on campus.  Many children have the desire to perform meaningful work and feel needed.  Future Leaders was created to nurture positive leadership skills.  Students have the opportunity to apply for school-wide jobs.  They are responsible for completing the application, obtaining teacher and parent permission and signing a work contract.  Such jobs include Lunch Tray Helper, Recycler, Flag Monitor, Scuff Mark Remover, Office Messenger, Kitchen Helper.

The Lunch Buddy Program is for children who could benefit from having another adult relationship.  Community members, parents, and Central Kitsap personnel volunteer their time once a week to meet with a designated Clear Creek student.  These children, and adults, benefit from one-on-one attention to improve self-esteem, learning, and communication skills.  We are always looking for more volunteers!

This is an enrichment math club for those students who LOVE math! Students are nominated by their teachers to attend this club.  Mr. McWilliams and Mrs. Hazen-Gross lead the meetings on Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:15.  Parents are responsible for picking their students up from this event.

The Reader's Choice Award Program encourages students to write stories and evaluate them. Between January and May, all students may enter by placing stories they have written in the Reader's Choice Award bookshelf in the library. Students, staff and school visitors read these stories and submit evaluations of them. All students who enter a story receive a treat. Students who win the Reader's Choice Award receive recognition over the daily announcements, an official Reader's Choice Award Seal on their book, a special treat from the principal and are finalists for a Barnes And Noble gift certificate.   Please contact Mr. Young for more information.

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition.
The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Safety patrol is open to 5th grade students. Eligibility to participate is based on a student's behavioral and academic progress. Patrollers have to be mature and responsible, have good leadership skills and be positive role models for younger students. There are morning and afternoon shifts and there are over 10 positions around the perimeter of the school. Currently we have approximately 40 patrollers. Each patroller works a 2 week rotating schedule. Patrollers are responsible for the safety of other students by making sure they walk carefully, safely, and directly to their destination. Patrollers get to go on a field trip at the end of the year as a reward for their hard work. The Safety Patrol advisors are Mrs. Secrest and Miss. Bairey.
